Secret Network Upgrade: DeFi Readiness (Codename: Ferenginar)

After the Proposal 25 submitted by Enigma passed on the network, Secret Network is undergoing a hard-fork codenamed Ferenginar.

As initially discussed in the forum thread this upgrade starts as a soft-fork which will develop into a hard-fork when 67% of the network as upgraded, and the nodes not upgraded will be excluded from consensus.

The main goal of this fork is to introduce the support of a common DeFi ready design pattern. When this upgrade passes it would be enabling the ability to call contracts that are instantiated during the same transaction.

For node operators, it is advised to follow this GitHub instructions for the upgrade. At Secure Secrets we have successfully upgraded our nodes following the instructions and awaiting the hard-fork activation.
