Hi everyone!
We recently announced the launch of Secret DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization supporting the Enigma protocol and its overall ecosystem. Ultimately, the goal is to allocate funds effectively through collective decision-making processes.
Initially, our plan is to conduct an experiment using DAOstack’s Alchemy platform. New applicants will submit proposals to request reputation, then approved Secret DAO members can vote to determine winners of Enigma’s hackathon prizes at ETHDenver.
We might experiment with other DAO platforms as well. Feel free to make suggestions. Recently, I started a Collective Working Group about governance to discuss how relevant projects manage shared resources. My hope is that research could inform the development of Secret DAO. The primary concerns are sustaining quality participation and mitigating risks, e.g. sybil attacks.
Please reply here with any ideas for proposals. For example, we recently introduced an opportunity for members of the Enigma community to get published on the Collective Blog. Secret DAO could help us by deciding which posts are featured.
There will be a variety of ways for the community to get involved! As we learn from this experience together, common types of proposals may become generalized templates. We’re also excited to introduce multiple kinds of reputation. Our vision is for Secret DAO to evolve as people join and contribute. As a whole, Enigma is greater than the sum of its parts.
