Authors: Dalton Tanner, Jeremy Schipper, Carter Woetzel

Proposal Date: 4.26.2021

International Ambassador Program

To date, Secret Network has lacked organized global channels and focused growth strategies for various language communities and countries. Secure Secrets has created a comprehensive plan of action to pursue such channels and growth. This includes: (1) growing 15-20 different international language communities, (2) generating and managing 30+ ambassadors, (3) creating consistent translations for key Secret Network documents, and (4) creating a list of quality translators (5) KPI tracking. The International Ambassador Program (IAP) requires a total of 6,250 scrt per month to execute this program. Secure Secrets is the responsible entity of this SNAC proposal. The IAP program will have a preliminary phase of 4 months, from May 1, 2021, to September 1, 2021, with two opportunities for re-evaluation of investment by the approvers of this SNAC. The execution of this plan consists of the following documents & resources, all of which have already been created:

  1. Ambassador Sign-up Form

  2. Ambassador Guidelines

  3. Ambassador Role Descriptions

  4. Ambassador Ethos

  5. Global Community Graphic Templates

  6. Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Tracker

  17. Performance Review

The Secret Network International Ambassador Program (IAP) will have important collaboration with the Secret Agent program. We believe IAP is another way for Secret Agents to get more specifically involved with the Secret Network ecosystem - particularly as it pertains to fostering and growing Secret Network globally. The Secret Network community is always in need of more translators and community members willing to promote privacy in the many language communities and countries around the globe that are focused on building a more private and secure future with Web 3.0 using Secret Network.

The KPIs for Secure Secrets as managers of the International Ambassador Program will be as follows:

  • Growth of channels (primary)
  • Number of global ambassadors
  • Number of ambassadors
  • Number of channels
  • Number of translated articles

There will be a monthly International Ambassador Program KPI report that will be posted on the following days during the preliminary period: June 5th, July 5th, August 5th, and September 5th. Finally, there will be a global summary report posted on September 15th reflecting on the program. Below is an example of what will be included in the Ambassador Activity KPIs, which will be used to compile the International Ambassador Program KPI report.

Ambassador Program Milestones

Starting May 1st, there will be a 6-week window to fill all global ambassador positions. There will be interviews, vetting, onboarding, KPI tracking, and meetings during this time frame. The following 6-week window will be from May 15th - July 1st where all ambassador positions will be filled. From June 15th - August 1st there will be an examination of KPIs, resulting in promotions and potential relieving of duties if role responsibilities are not met. Finally, we will kick off a global growth campaign for Secret Network from July 1st - September 1st that will feature virtual meetups, potential prizes, awareness committee collaboration, and network-wide promotion of channels. The final period is from August 1st - September 1st where the global ambassadors and Secure Secrets will formulate a KPI summary of the last four months, and generate improvement areas for the program.

The goal of the International Ambassador Program is to give out micro-grants to Global Ambassadors and Ambassadors in return for their efforts to grow and maintain Secret Network channels of all of the various international communities. Ambassadors play key roles in growing the Network and we want to recognize their efforts. There is room for additional proposals for more focused language-related projects that Ambassadors will be able to lead and receive additional compensation for.

In total, the International Ambassador Program is asking for 6,250 scrt per month. The cost basis for the International Ambassador Program was based on the rolling-price average of SCRT - which is around $1.53. In addition to this, the current price (4/23), as well as the standard deviation of price, was also taken into account using the following values:

Current Price $2.770
Cost Basis $1.530
1 ST Dev Below $0.249
1 ST Dev Above $2.830
Role # of Ambassadors SCRT Monthly Per Hours (Monthly) Current Price Basis Hourly St Dev Above St Dev Below
Global Ambassador 8 175 20 $24.238 $13.388 $24.762 $2.183
Ambassador 25 57 10 $15.789 $8.721 $16.131 $1.422
Roles Hours ( Monthly) Current Price Cost Basis St Dev Above St Dev Below
Data Analytics / Integration Support 30 $73.87 $40.80 $75.466 $6.652
IAP Partner / Advisor 15 $36.93 $20.40 $37.733 $3.326
IAP Partner / Advisor 15 $36.93 $20.40 $37.733 $3.326
Lead Ambassador Program Manager 40 $55.40 $30.60 $56.600 $4.989
Lead Ambassador Finance Manager 30 $73.87 $40.80 $75.466 $6.652

Global Ambassadors: 1,400 scrt

With the expectations of 6 - 8 Global Ambassadors working approx. 20 hours a month and with the added responsibilities and duties of the role, the level of appropriate compensation will be approx. 175 scrt per month for each Global Ambassador.

These amounts are subject to change based on the Global Ambassador’s responsibilities, actionables, and roles.

Ambassadors: 1,425 scrt

With the expectations of 25 Ambassadors working approx. 10 hours a month, the level of appropriate compensation will be approx. 57 scrt per month for each Ambassador.

These amounts are subject to change based on the Ambassador’s responsibilities, actionables, and roles. This already includes the Ambassadors Xavier Harnais for French-speaking countries, Vaanshi Vaachar for India, and Glenn Berdan for the Philippines.

On the assumption of a Cost Basis of $1.53/scrt (based on average price between Oct 2020 - April 2021), the hourly rates of the roles will be broken down as follows.

Global Ambassadors: per hour rate: $13.39 | Ambassador: per hour rate: $8.72

Program Architecture, Management, & Automation

For the creation, oversight, and management of v1 of the Secret Network International Ambassador Program, the Secure Secrets team would be granted 3,425 scrt per month. The distribution of funds through the team will be as follows:

  • Dalton Tanner | Lead Ambassador Program Manager - 800 scrt
  • Jeremy Schipper | Ambassador Program Finance Manager - 800 scrt
  • Austin Woetzel | Data Analytics / Integration Support - 800 scrt
  • Carter Woetzel | International Ambassador Program Advisor - 200 scrt
  • Mohammed Patla | International Ambassador Program Advisor - 200 scrt

The remaining 625 scrt will be labeled as discretionary funds to be spent on growth initiatives, bonus incentives, specific translation roles, etc. For time and effort spent building, organizing, maintaining, and growing this initiative through the coming months, Secure Secrets believes this is a fair and accurate amount of compensation.

Additionally, 75 hours have been invested by Secure Secrets to create the architecture for the International Ambassador Program, as well as prototype ambassador vetting. For good measure, simply to show Secure Secrets has invested considerable effort into this proposal, these 75 hours equate to approximately $2250 (using a $30 rate) for the initial formation of this program.

Escrow Exit Clause

As this program aims to grow the community and expand the cultures and languages that the Secret Network caters to, the meeting of intangible goals and KPIs is of the utmost importance. At the discretion of the person(s) and/or entities that approve this program, at the end of two months of the program (July 1st) and at the end of four months of the program (September 1st) Secure Secrets will again contact the approvers and offer the opportunity, should the Program not meet expectations and goals of the approvers, to terminate funding of the International Ambassador Program.

The role of Secure Secrets in this Program is not as the employer of any of the Ambassadors or Global Ambassadors for the purposes of the International Ambassador Program. Secure Secrets serves as the program manager and escrow of the funds, which are to be distributed to those who participate in the Program.

Now that’s a well thought out proposal. It definitely sounds like it would meet an immediate need of Secret Network. For the past few weeks in various committee meetings we’ve been talking about how to better reach non-English speaking communities. Translations of all of our media, and ambassadors that can constantly bridge the language/culture gap between us, sounds like the way to do it!

I also think this looks very well thought out. Though I will say it looks like a very obvious duplicate effort of the secret agent program and I think calling it an ambassador program instead of the secret agent program will cause fragmentation. That may not be an issue that hurts us though since it clearly could also work well with the Secret Agent program, just seems confusing to name it something else and have ambassadors and agents

Appreciate the well-thought out post!

I believe any efforts to grow our global footprint will pay dividends for long-term growth. Shoring up resources now who can translate and replicate existing awareness and educational materials will allow us to be well-positioned for when we eventually see more traffic from other countries.

I am interested in seeing community growth metrics segmented by country to see which areas gain the most ground and give us insight into where we can divert more resources. Looking forward to seeing the community grow and scale globally!

I am happy to be part of a great awareness and inclusion program to support the secret network and to contribute to the community. Decentralized Secured Privacy Solutions should be inclusive to all cultures and languages.

I agree that this is very well thought out. I guess I have the same questions about duplicative efforts/synergies with the Secret Agent program. I don’t say this out of any desire to exercise control over it, but rather with the same concerns of fragmentation/confusion/identity. I think it’s important Secret Agents all share one identity. Truly, the more we band together and share common goals the more powerful we become as a network.

That said I think the solution to my concern is an easy one; simply think of ways that this program can be integrated with the evolving Secret Agent program. It was always anticipated that this will include things like global ambassadors and translations. Myself, John, Darren, and any else involved would be happy to collaborate. The program is also in need of help exactly like this proposal offers. I view this program as an arm of the Secret Agents, and could be included in missions, reputation, scoring, ranking, etc. I don’t see why it can’t be an add-on feature. I think becoming an International Ambassador is one way you can become a Secret Agent. Happy to support this endeavor.

Shut up and take my vote!

Well thought out and detailed idea! I think the work proposed here is a great step towards a wide adoption of the Secret Network, as it lowers the barriers for non-English speakers to engage with the topic of private cryptocurrencies. It also shows that the Secret Network already has global acceptance and is a global player, so to speak, which additionally signals professionalism.

in my opinion, this is a rather promising project for which the future
